Candle Filter

The candle filter, also known as a filter cake layer filter, consists of a vertical vessel and vertically mounted filter units. These filter units comprise perforated, petal-shaped filter elements and filter cloth; the actual filtering media are the filter cloth and the filter cake layer enveloping the surface of the filter element. The filter cloth is secured to the surface of the filter element using specialised clamps to ensure a seal. The filtration process is fully enclosed, leak-free and causes no environmental pollution. It enables fully automated processing throughout the entire cycle, including filtration, filter cake washing, air drying and gas backflushing for residue removal. The entire process is rapid, ensuring maximum operational efficiency.

The materials used for the housing and filter elements are primarily stainless steel (304/316/321), carbon steel and titanium;

The materials used for the filter cloth are primarily PP (polypropylene), PE (polyester), PPS (polyphenylene sulphide), PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) and nylon fibres;

Filter aids are selected according to the filtration standards required in the production process, primarily including activated carbon and diatomaceous earth;

As a large-scale piece of equipment on production lines, the candle filter is also commonly referred to as a candle filtration unit;
