The equipment consists of vertically stacked filter plates and frames with filter paper sandwiched between them. Pressurized filtration relies on filter paper as the medium. During operation, filtrate enters the unit via feed pipes from a transfer pump. It flows through small holes within the upper and lower circular openings of the plate frames into the filter frames.
The filtrate then passes through the filter paper and the porous support plates on the filter plates, entering the upper and lower channels of the filter plates. It exits through the upper and lower discharge ports at the rear of the unit. After filtration, residual liquid is expelled from the filter chamber using compressed air or nitrogen. This equipment is a precision clarification filtration system. By selecting filter paper of varying precision, filtrate of corresponding purity can be obtained.
